How exactly does Design Ontap work?

A short presentation that will show you exactly how Design Ontap works.

Key Staff

Joanna Richardson - Managing Director

Joanna joined Design Ontap in January 2006 and has brought vast publishing, sales and operations experience to the management team. Jo has worked as a Field Sales Representative for major newspaper groups, such as Guardian Media and the Mirror Group. Jo also has experience working in radio advertising. Her track record for overachieving is impressive.

Glen Richardson - Sales Director

In April 2003 Glen founded 'Glen Richardson Consultancy Limited' and then went on to form 'Design Ontap' in November 2004 after an extensive research period.

At the age of 17 Glen landed his first full-time job at Cumbria Newspapers as Head Web Designer for the group. He was responsible for publishing the content of nine newspapers, two magazines and designing numerous client sites. At the height of the 'DOT COM Boom' in two thousand Glen was headhunted by a southern dot com start-up called 'careersoffice.com' to head-up the site as Webmaster. Unfortunately as other dot com's collapsed so did 'careersoffice.com'.

Glen decided to change career and head into Corporate IT sales in 2001. Glen won and account managed corporates such as Jordan F1, TNT Express, Time Warner and many more.

With a strong history of winning corporate clients, over achieving sales targets and best of breed design experience Glen decided he was ready to set-up his own company. As the market was tough Glen approached other web design agencies to see if they would be willing to outsource some work to his company. Clients mentioned that it was great working with a Limited Company that acted like a freelancer who they could outsource to in a confidential manner. Glen latched onto this apparent gap in the market and set-up a division of his company called 'Design Ontap' that worked exclusively for design agencies.

Tim Southcombe - Director

Joining the Design Ontap team in February 2006, Tim brought over 14 years of creative industry experience to the company. Prior to this he has worked for a variety of companies both in film & TV and design and development.

Tim began his career in Sydney as an editor in 1992 moving on to direct programmes. After becoming increasingly disillusioned with the unfortunate direction of British television at the end of the nineties, he decided that a change to online design and development would be for the best in 1998.

Coming from a background in film & TV, Tim offers an alternative approach to web application design and development. He values usability above swanky graphics and an overloaded user experience; believing that the Internet isn't all about entertainment but rather a means for information/idea exchange.
